• Traveler’s diarrhea caused by non-invasive E. coli (adults and children ≥ 12 years)

• Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea (IBS‑D)

• Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

• Prevention of Hepatic Encephalopathy, often used with lactulose

⚠️ Warnings & Precautions

• Contraindications: Allergy to rifaximin or other rifamycin antibiotics

• Not for use with: Bloody or febrile diarrhea or non‑E. coli infections

• Use caution in: Severe liver impairment (Child‑Pugh Class C)

• Possible complications: Rare risk of pseudomembranous colitis; drug interactions (e.g., P‑gp inhibitors; cyclo‑sporine)
